That was yesterday, what have you done for me today?
I know, I know, you're either emailing me about the video, or about the site being quiet as though your stomach for drunkenness is slowly eating itself. Don't, as...
- The video is on its on its way, but this stuff can just take awhile. Do the math on importing 9 tapes, then having to synch/convert/edit, find the problems, etc. Very few Photoshop people will be running out for dual-core G5s, it's all about chewing through the video.
A few of you are emailing and acting like this shouldn't have taken more than 45 minutes to throw together and online, but this just isn't like ripping an episode off one of a DVD. Just chill out, I have every incentive to get it up as quickly as possible.
- I let things stack up before Evening @ Adler that have to get taken care of, like say laundry -- the world already has to deal with me running around, it doesn't need me doing it commando.
Time is a pie, and if sliced too thinly nothing big ever gets done, and the pieces not portioned out to the video are being sucked up by things surrounding it (you'll see), and there just isn't much left over for anything else. I could fire up MarsEdit and post things, but that's time that'd be taken out of the other things, and those things are a lot more important than what I have to say.
It'll change, but that's the deal right now -- and I really need to watch out for the whole burn out scenario so the site doesn't devolve into all the other sites around the Mac web I'm scrolling through lately and wondering if I haven't removed them only because they're supposed to be what you read if you have a Mac.
Anywho, that's before-morning-coffee thinking, and I get you wouldn't be hassling me if you weren't feeling the same thing, so bygones.
On an unrelated note, while working on the video, I'm noticing with great amusement that Eric isn't the only one plotting evil plans throughout the talk. Eric is still getting a stress ball for Christmas, though.
On related note to that note, if you volunteered at Adler, even the camera guy on the right who liked to randomly focus in on the left wall (kidding), please send me your full name and exactly what you did. I have a rough list, but I'd hate to screw up the specifics.
Anywho, please have patience, so I can keep mine, as the site is going to stay dark until this is all taken care of, as that's part of the incentive to get up at 4am.

That video better be fun, because this blows. :-) DB is out of commission and John Gruber posts something real once a month and twice a week asking for more cash for the same recycled entries. How about an understudy? Or a Robin? Who wants to be Bat Girl?

Take your time, enjoy the sips of a solidly mixed White Russian and bask in the fact that a job well done is already accomplished (i.e., the talk and the blog)
Kudos on the shirt as well, received my last night after work and the Cow just made me smile. Now I'll be abiding at work :) Thanks too for the decal, quite sweet indeed!
The video is a labor of love and dedication and rushing anything (videos, software, etc.) only degrades quality and frazzles those doing it... so here's a beating stick *passes beating stick of pain to DB*

Take your time DB. I admit I hit the refresh on NetNewsWire more often than it's automatically set to in hopes of seeing a post about a finished video, but don't stress yourself. We can wait.
I also got my shirt last night, which should hold me over for a few more days.

Have you got enough hosting for the video? I'd hate to have it go up and then come crashing down again...

In response to the last comment, I have one word that DB should take into consideration:
BitTorrent.
Thank you. :)

I've been checking this website three times a day, six times a day... waiting, waiting... I should get a life.

Afaik, he'll put the video up on BiTorrent.
I went to the conference. The video is worth the wait.

I think bittorrent is a great idea.
However I'd also like to tell DB about http://mirrorme.org. I've never used it, but it might be something to look at.
I'll seed the video for sure though!

I'm waiting to get screwed with the "Extra-Special Platinum White-Russian DrunkenBatman Abiding DVD Edition" which you can pre-order and get old waiting for. :-)
I'm sure it'll be worth the wait.

Welcome to being a celebrity of sorts. Fans demand immediate, constant attention, like small children :)
Take your time, relax. Just having put on the event in the first place means you deserve a vacation.

Thank you for doing this (the whole package), and I hope you still find it interesting in the same way you did when you started the blog.
