Pre-orders ending midnight October 3rd
Quick note that we're going to be wrapping up pre-ordering for the shirts on October 3rd, which is this coming Monday evening. It also looks as though there'll also be a small surprise in the pre-orders, as hey, everyone loves stickers, especially of The Cow. I looked into Shrinky-Dinks, but realized that path led to madness.
I know, I know, the shirts will have only been available for pre-order for like a week at that point, and no one reads sites during the weekend, but:
- I did say this was going to be a pretty short pre-order period, as I'm serious about trying to get them into as many hands as possible before the talk. I can't promise, but that's the goal. For those of you who asked, if it does work out and you bring them, yes I'll sign them if asked. It's your shirt, and if you want to decrease the value who am I to judge.
- This is going to be a decent sized order, and the design is complex with a bunch of colors, so I'm trying to increase the chances of snags not popping up as its going to be tight as it is.
I also mentioned that there'll still be shirts, but that they'll only be available in one color...
One of the things we got with pre-ordering was the ability for you to pick the color and size you wanted before the order went in, because there's no way we're going to be stocking a bunch of different colors in different sizes. Last night we spent some time going through the stats (weird -- I wouldn't be surprised if 40%+ are going overseas) as I was hoping we'd have an obvious front-runner to get the rest of the stock in. In order of popularity:
- Black
- Navy
- Forest Green
- Chocolate
Unfortunately, while there is a pecking order, nothing was seriously breaking away from the pack. I.E., black is only ahead of navy by five shirts, and the pack is even smaller as you go down with differences of one or two. To be honest, I really thought there'd only be a few forest greens and such, but nope, it's practically an even split so I'm going to have to make some arbitrary decision. Bastards. :)

's a good thing I didn't do my regular "procrastinate until the last minute and then some" thing. Ordered earlier today...now if only I could figure out an excuse why I *have* to go to Chicago.

I actually expected this. My guess is that people are ordering the colors in higher proportion because they expect only black to be available in the future.
I was actually thinking abuot just waiting a while on this.. But I really just don't want black. (wayyyyy too many tech shirts are black colored... and I like some color in my life).
Guess I'm joining the pre-order pack.
