Ask drunkenbatman
One of the things I get emailed about all the time is a request for an 'about the site' page, which is a pretty reasonable request. In my spare time I've been throwing them into a folder in the hopes of making one, but as I've gotten closer to posting it I've realized there's probably a lot left unasked. I'd hate to throw it up and then get a bunch more questions once people realize I'm willing.
If you have a question about the site, throw it in the comments here or shoot me an email so I can take care of all of them at once... speak now or forever hold your peace. I can't promise I'll answer everything, but I'll do my best. Please be as specific as possible.

Personal bio stuff: age/name/location, and other personality things (i.e. political leanings, personal moral feelings, etc)
Those things would be a good start.

Who are you? How did you become such a popular blogger? How do you manage to interview/quote so many people in the Mac community?

I always find reading the "About this site" pages both interesting and revealing. I'm curious about what your set-up is like: computers, programs used to design/create this site, what version of Linux this site runs and why. Do you buy the newest systems or keep the old ones running? Why do you run the systems you do?
Also, does your job involve computers or programming? Have you contributed in any open-source products?
Finally, what's your favorite book?

What lead you to choose the computer industry, and Apple and OS X in particular as the main topics for your weblog? Not knocking it, from what little I know, you do a good job.

It was hinted at in the interview with Sunny that you are Canadian. Also in the post where you poked fun at the Greate White North you were very accurate and played into a lot of stereotypes that even us Canadians perpetuate. :)
So are you Canadian?

i like the software/hardware used design and serve drunkenblog on the web question above...
how many hours a week do you put into blogging? your entries are often very long and are always well researched, i am constantly wowed by the amount of effort you put forth...
what kind of bandwidth do you push?
and a more intrusive question:
how much money do you make with with advertising / do you get any free merch for reviewing?

Did you get a free download of Growl for all the plugging you've been doing for it? Do you feel these kinds of kick backs affect the fairness of your evaluations? And finally, what's up with DrunkenCommissionerGordon? How does a guy like that get any support from city hall at all?
Posted by: Incandescant at March 1, 2005 10:44 AM
Errr.... Growl is Free and Open Source Software. Everyone gets a free download....

You know what's funny? Most people with blogs, you know a lot about them. They tell you their names, where they work, what city they're in, intimate details of their lives.... But you, DB, we don't even know your real first name. (I admire that. :-)
I'd like to know what software and hardware you run your blog on, if you wrote it yourself, and who your hosting provider is.

Uh, you might want to have some ground rules... or here come "How big is your trouser snake" questions.
