Those crazy Czech students (NSFW, redux)

Awhile ago, I linked to one of the odder (and amusing) things I'd seen in awhile -- what looked to be a bunch of students from a technical school in the czech republic posing naked with computer hardware covering up their nether regions (admittedly, my sense of humor can be a bit whacked -- I thought the angelina jolie rap movie was stupid to start, then completely rounded the horn on it by the end).
A few things happened since then:
- Most couldn't see it, because it went offline fairly quickly due to bandwidth constraints.
- I was politely, and in some cases not politely, educated on just how the czech republic was affiliated with the soviet union.
- The guy responsible for this odd bit of web history contacted me, and I was able to get the story on what was behind the whole thing in the first place, because that's what I do.
- I developed a small crush on Matylda, whose picture you see linked above.
He also sent along an archive of the pictures, just so his connection didn't get hosed any more than it was. And yes, I mentioned these aren't safe for work, so don't click below the fold if you're going to be offended, although there isn't any actual nudity.
Chances are you'll just crack up and also want to know the story behind what on earth led to their existence...
You'll notice that because I love my readers, I did take the time to grab the women and put them at the top after Thumbscrew was through with them, especially my lovely Matylda (Yes, I know I have some female readers... but I'm pretty sure it skews heavily male, and we can assume some of the female readers might skew towards the females, so it's win-win).
You'll also notice just how odd and random the whole thing is, which brings us to Tomor's (Ptáčník Tomáš) explanation of what happened (remember, he's not a native English speaker):
In the Czech Republic there in normal to end up the secondary school with graduation ball and this celebration things as well as tableau. Students make photos of themselves, their class teacher and put them on the tableau. Also write there a name of school, class, name of their teacher and their names. This tableau expose somewhere in the town where the school is. It is for the people to know which students will graduate this year... Every class want to make their tableau interesting... Want to have something special. So we decided to do this.
We studied the technical school - computers. We where good class, good friends, we made a lots of fun there. Our idea was to do something really special... No one was against so we did it.. :-)
We exposed our tableau in the window of one little shop on the main road of our town. (next the bus stop). Many people comes here every day, so we were happy that many people can see our job :-) The true is, that many of them looks on that with their big eyes :-) Some of them smiling, some of them marveling, some older people don't understand. But globaly, I think there were good, funny opinion :-).
This speciality was three times in newspapers(one times criticised), and two times in local TV. We were happy than thay like it :-) So, thats it. No sex hidden meaning but a lot of fun and a lot of good friends...
Three times in the newspapers, twice on local TV, and now a feature on DrunkenBlog -- one of us is slumming, but in a good way.
Most of us know very little about that region of the world, nor the people living their lives in it. Knowing they can be just as random, silly and goofy as us can go a small way towards closing that mental divide.

For a joke, some of those poses are kind of... "suggestive"? :-) Funny.

Thank you for putting the girls first. Oh how I wish there were more- not just there, but in CS departments in the US, too. There aren't enough geek girls in the world.

May I respectfully suggest that semi-naked WOMEN become a regular feature? :-D

What is with the obsessing over Matilda? "truPPPka" is cute too, and at least the girl stood up. Probably better in the sack, too. "Matilda" could be wearing a bathing suit for all you know.

May I politely educate you on the spelling of "Czech Republic"? It's Czech, not Czesch.

I skipped college, but a few years ago started taking technical courses at a local technical school. The teachers aren't the best, but the experience keeps me sharp I find I stop procrastinating my reading when I am paying for the privilege. At the end of each class, we usually have some celebration... like a cake. And tiny styrofoam cups of juice... I'm moving to prague!

What a fuck, Czechoslovakia!! No matter where do I go, nobody knows Czechoslovakia has been splitted into two countries. LA? San Francisco? New York? Tokyo? Edinburgh? Im getting pretty.. ..annoyed.
Pls, do me a favour: when u see me walking down the street in San Francisco, ask me about Czech Republic. We can have a nice evening in a pub and I'll be glad to teach u whole *Czech* history.
We DO have the iPods, we r not such a f*ckin medieval country, we ARE NOT communistic country anymore and we ARE NOT connected with Russia in any way. If u didnt notice, we ARE the members of Europian Union.
Yes, we DO have a cars, we DO have televisions and if u wonder how am I writing this (not really nice) comment, I do have a laptop. U r amazed, arent u?

Eh, I hope my affect is over now... I just didnt control my fingers on the keyboard, u know...:)
Well, and I'm not native speaker either...:)
