Note to self: check grounds
It's kind of nice to be home. It's been a very hectic few weeks, to where I'm not sure whether I'm coming or going again... but nice to be home. The only downside is that now that I'm home, there's a lot of stuff that needs to get taken care of around here that doesn't involve a CPU in any way (think laundry, cleaning, progress reports) that is decidedly unsexy but needs to get done.
And I've developed this several day headache that has just gotten worse, one of those throbbing-behind-the-eyes ones. Nothing debilitating, but they do make it hard to concentrate. This usually means I'm either stressed out or haven't had enough caffeine (or both), so this morning coffee was the first thing on my mind.
I stumbled into the kitchen and began the process, was distracted, and when I returned to the task at hand I apparently saw that I'd ground the beans, so I just added the water and hit the shower while it did its thing.
I'd forgotten to actually dump out the old grounds and add the new, and my mouth was treated to something made from 3-week old used grounds that had just been sitting there. I say something instead of coffee because whatever it was at that point, it sure as hell wasn't coffee.
*Gag*
Either way it's still nice to be back, I was able to beg off on the Canada trip which will make this weekend a lot nicer. As it is I've been in info-triage mode, having to completely eschew listservs/websites and only tackling email & RSS while everything gets back to normal.
At least the blog has gotten nice and settled again and all the traffic has died down. Maybe I'll actually post something of worth soon.

Hey db! I made a rule for your posts after a "special olympic" comment you made on Omnigroup. Funny stuff, you still owe me a keyboard! If you remember we emailed and you told me about Gyaz.
I hope you make it back on the lists soon, don't let MMalcolm get to you. He's really not a bad guy. He just doesn't like being shown up when I've seen him act like that with others. Reminds me of an old professor in that way. :>
Oh and if you want to try some really bad coffee and you are in LA, stop by my office building. I think they reuse the grounds to save money.
