TROU in Chicago...
Look people, I really appreciate your various emails about that TROU group, and what an asshat "Joe Ferguson" seems to be. Yes, he seems to be a bit shifty, and yes, he seems to be lying about things I've said or taken them out of context and his hitting on random women from the list seems to be pretty lame, and yeah they seem to be money grubbing and untrustworthy. But let it go, he's just an asshat and leave it at that. While I think it's amusing & I appreciate the thought, please don't send me messages from their list or things he is saying about me, and if how he seems to be acting bothers you, find a new list.
It isn't something I've really thought twice about, considering I was barely on the list and I didn't know any of you. Although I'll admit some of the messages that have been forwarded on were kind of funny, and I'm kind of touched that some of you seemed to really think I was done wrong, I just don't care about them enough to devote any mental effort to refuting any of them, I'm working some pretty hefty hours here. So let it go, if it's not bothering me it shouldn't bother you. There's an old saying that goes something like "When you wrestle with pigs..." that seems applicable.
Feel free to keep in touch & all, but don't message me about that group anymore, I've forgotten about it and moved on. It's all just kind of weird, as far as I'm concerned it was just a small list I posted on from time to time when people needed better info than what was offered, and the list owner turned out to be a bit of a creep, and that was that. So if you are reading through their archives, come upon the creepiness and have a problem with it, don't post to their list about it, and don't message me about it, just unsubscribe, find a better list, and move on.
It's not something I have time for or an interest in, but again, thanks for the thought.

No, sorry I don't mind that you emailed me, it was very nice of you and I appreciate the thought: thanks. I've just been swamped with work and other things, and that stupidity had happened weeks ago and that should have been the end of it, the guy sent me some pretty rancid emails and downright odd emails off the list, and I found the whole situation he put himself rather amusing, but that was the end of it as far as I was concerned. So it's a little disconcerting to have people I don't know going vigilante for something I don't care about. :) Hell, I don't even remember what TROU stands for.
If he's saying things about me, while that's amusing, it's not something I really care about so there's no point in forwarding them to me and continuing it... see the pig quote above.
Most people know what I'm about and what I will/will not say, and why, and that's that. If you feel he's acted inappropriately towards you, I'm not sure what your recourse would be except to send a message to yahoo.

Your name was similar to mine so I had to take it should not have let it expire. :*) I think I forwarded you first and I wrote on the list too. Lots of people were unhappy I should have forwarded you all of them before I was banned. It was a shame I had been on that list for a long time and had never seen anyone treated like that. You were one of the only ones who knew anything on that list now only a few people would even post before I was banned. Thank you for your help with my mail problem my error messages are gone and I did save your post on music encoding from their archives i give that to people sometimes. I will talk to you on ichat sometime.

Duuuuuuude. I don't mind you using mhbell1 if it's close to your real name and all, I did close it out as I had no use for it and hadn't used it in years. But try to be decent with what you post to it and where, alright? :)

Asshat is a good word. I joined that group and saw the messages and made sure to email you first and you are nothing like he is saying you are. It is little napolean syndrome. I left the group quick I think it is obvious what that guy really cares about. I like your site and added your subscribe feed.

I found your site linked from macsurfer and couldn't believe you were the same guy that caused so much trouble on TRoU without even being on the list! You were hilarious. Right now you can't say your name on that list without being banned unless it is negative about you. There has been a whole thread about how people do not know your name!

TRoU is one of the chicago apple user groups some of us belong to and they have an email list some of us are on http://www.trou.org/. You are not allowed to say anything bad about apple products or companies coming to speak or you are banned. drunken batman did about a product he gave a warning and then was banned and anyone who is on the list who says he should not have been gets banned. Lots of people had a problem with it and which made the list owner say a lot of bad stuff about Mr. Drunk. The list owner is also known to take too much of an interest in some of the female members who subscribe and it has just turned bad.

This just got blown out of proportion and is (i hope!) an isolated incident. Granted, Joe overreacted and has not handled himself well. But most of the people who belong to the group are great and I hope not too many have left because of this and it should not reflect on the group as a whole, many of whom arent even on the list!
I think we should take db's advice on this and let this unfortunate incident go. Happy easter!

People... done means done. :) I really don't have time for this, it's a dead issue as far as I'm concerned. I realize that this isn't really about me, and most of you are just annoyed at the turn your list as taken, but it's way past time to put it to rest. To that end, I'm not deleting these comments but I am closing it out.

I joined the list and left the same day once I saw those posts!! Mr Ferguson seemed to want my personal email way too much once he saw I was a girl. I only emailed you and cc'd you some of those posts because your email was next to your posts and it all seemed so funny and I doubted what they were saying was true.
