Ringtones!
The most annoying thing about ringtones isn't, well, the ringtones themselves. I can take those, they usually just elicit a "Dumbass" in my mind if Beethoven's 5th starts playing. But I get over it quickly.
What kills me are when people are going through every single one their ringtones, trying to find the uber-ring that completely sums up their personality and life history in under 4 seconds.
Or when they're trying to use their address book or calendar, and have the keypad set to give that incessent beeping noise.
Bleep.

Bleep.
Bleep.
Beep.
Bleep.
Bleep.
Beep.
It's one of the few things that makes me want to smack strangers upside the head.

I feel you. I've been hearing about these devices for movie theatres and the like that, when combined with newer cell phones, will allow one to create an area in which a cell phone just won't work. I desire one greatly.
Of course, knowing myself, I'd prolly end up carrying it with me whenever I go anywhere and towing a large set of car batteries. So its prolly good that these things aren't available for public consumption just yet.
You think that's bad? I work in a college library doing computer tech support. Every 5 damn minutes I hear 50 Cent or Eminem or some Indiam muzak.
Thank god for my iPod!
