Dreams and Catching Up
Had a really weird dream last night. I usually dream a lot, but almost always they are the same three, and this was completely different...
Moreso because of the person in it, and what we did. I think I can figure it out, and it's just my brain coming to terms with certain aspects of the past. The only thing that completely confuses me is Eminem's presence in the van writing lyrics. I'm going to have to chalk that up to catching some news about him the day before.
Haven't really been keeping up with this thing, to the chagrin of others. Today is a catch-up day though, mostly grunt stuff. I have to work on an OS9 ibook and figure out why its crashing so much, and hopefully find my officeX CD so i can move it to OSX. It's supported in OSX, but damnit the screen is 800x600 so the installer often leaves buttons off the edge.
Afterwards just catching up on email, trying to figure out why eudora is telling people they have to have telnet access to a server to send mail, working some more on a script to automatically check for specific files on the server and send me a list, then fleshing out some more of the documentation for ru, and then checking in with the boys.
I have started a new book, which I'm about 50% of the way through, the newest one by Steven Brust called "The Paths of the Dead". As always with his work, it's fun as hell and I find myself chuckling at his turns of phrase. He's continuing with varying how he actually tells the stories, this one as through a historian is writing it, which normally would be tiresome but he just makes it fun.
Robert Jordan really needs to read off of Mr. Brust's notes. Admittedly they both go towards different ends, but somehow Brust is able to take a series of novels (there are probably 10+) all set in the same world and keep them interesting.
